It was used by many cultures to treat almost all known ailments.
Source: Boswellia carteri is native to Africa and the Middle East however; the resin is now collected as far afield as China and then processed in Europe.
Extraction: Frankincense essential oil is steam distilled from the gum resin of the Boswellia carteri tree.
Aroma: Frankincense essential oil has a rich, warm scent with a tang of lemon and woody camphor.
Fragrance note: Base.
Properties: It is relaxing, uplifting and mildly antiseptic. It is excellent for tiredness, grumpiness, negative moods, lack of confidence and emotional turmoil. It is perfect for rejuvenating the skin.
Uses: Massage, baths, vaporisation and may be added to base emollients.
Blends well with: Bergamot, Black Pepper, Camphor, Cinnamon, Cypress, Geranium, Grapefruit, Lavender, Lemon, Mandarin, Neroli, Orange, Palmarosa, Patchouli, Pine, Rose, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Ylang Ylang.
