Palo Santo translates to Holy Wood. Is is from the same family as Frankincense. The oil has been used for hundreds or even thousands of years in spiritual rituals. The aroma is a mix of buttery and oily, with a lemony, minty top note. The oil comes from the bark of the Palo Santo tree is grown in South America. Palo Santo oil contains Limonene, a compound usually from citrus oils but here it is found in the heartwood of the tree which is quite unusual. It is said to be beneficial for respiratory problems, as well as the benefits for skin.
